HIGHER SECONDARY
This is a two year NBSE program designed to provide preliminary insights into various science and language subjects. The programme is meant to help the students identify their area of interests as they prepare themselves for higher education in Undergraduate, or various Technical courses.

Note:

  1. MIL : Hindi / Tenyidie
  2. No optional subject is allowed for a candidate who passed in the 3rd Division in the HSLC.
  3. Only a candidate who has 60% or above in Mathematics in the HSLC examination can opt for Computer Science. Also he/she needs to have Mathematics (and not Biology) as an elective.

Eligibility:

10th Passed or equivalent from any recognized Board with a minimum of :

  1. General Category: 65% or A2 in Mathematics; 65% or A2 in Science
  2. Indigenous Category: 60% or B1 in Mathematics; 60% or A2 in Science
  3. Backward Tribe Category: 55% or B1 in Mathematics; 55% or B1 in Science

Application
Prescribed application from along with the Prospectus and an Entrance Test sample question paper can be obtained form the college for Rs. 50/-. The completed application must contain the following :

  1. One attested photocopy of Admit Card, Mark Sheet and Passed Certificate of the HSLC Examination.
  2. Two self-attested, passport size photographs (not later than 6 months).
  3. Backward Tribe Certificate (For a candidate belonging to any one of the Backward tribes)
  4. Indigenous Inhabitant Certificate (For non-Naga indigenous inhabitants).
  5. Gap Certificate for a candidate who is applying after a gap of one year or more after passing the last examination for the institution last attended or from a Gazetted Officer personally known to him/her in the manner of the given format (See Annexure 1 in the prospectus).
  6. Registration Card for a repeater under NBSE.
  7. Permission from NBSE for a student who has previously been in another stream (Arts or Commerce).
  8. Birth Certificate.

Selection
The selection of students is based on the Entrance Test in Mathematics and Science (50+50 marks) as per the NBSE class 10 syllabus. The selection of students is done strictly on merit and is monitored by an independent Admission Committee. In order to ensure fairness the papers and coded and evaluation is centralized. Canvassing in any form will disqualify a candidate. The decision of the Admission Committee is final and binding.
List of selected candidates and candidates in the waiting list is displayed in the college Notice Board.
Top twenty candidates in the NBSE HSLC examination are exempted from appearing the Entrance Test.

Admission
At the time of admission a candidate must produce the following documents in original of the last qualifying examination:

    1. Mark sheet (The mark sheet shall be retained by the college for 6 months as per Govt. order)
    2. Admit Card.
    3. Passed Certificate
    4. Backward tribe certificate
    5. Migration certificate (For a candidate from another Board) for registration into NBSE.
    6. Birth Certificate.

Note: If a candidate fails to get admitted on the specified date/s and time his/her selection is forfeited.

Number of Seats Available in Higher Secondary Course
(300 seats, excluding quotas and reservation)
- General : 150.
- Naga Students of Nagaland & Indigenous Inhabitants : 130.
- Land Donors Quota (Jotsoma village) : 20
- Founding Members Quota (one for each)
(The founding member’s quota shall remain restricted to them personally)
- Reservation for Meritorious Students (HSLC exam) : 20
- Special consideration for Physically challenged candidates.

N.B. Student/s nominated under quota should also possess the required minimum marks as given in ‘Eligibility’ above. This is a directive of the College Advisory Board.
